Road to Recovery

Finally after one week my brother is on the road to recovery! For those of you who don't know, he was in a bad ATV accident on Fathers Day. Yes, I can honestly say it was one of the worst days of my life. Mike and I were on our way back from Bear Lake Fathers Day morning when I received a call from my mom saying Corey was in a bad ATV accident and they were transporting him from the Nephi Hospital to the IHC in Murray. That was all she knew. I think my heart had just sank. I have a problem with thinking the worst when things like this happen.
He was at the Sand Dunes partying with friends and decided to ride his friends four-wheeler at 3:00 am when it's dark and didn't see a cliff and flew right off it. He landed on his back with the four-wheeler landing on top of him. When his friends went down to get him, he wasn't breathing. They pulled 3 hand fulls of sand out of his mouth and nose. He then started breathing. To make a long story short, he cracked his eye socket, hyper extended both thumbs, fractured his feet, stretched every mussel in his neck as far as it would possible stretch and cracked his spine.
I am just thankful that he's ok. I told him he has a very special guardian angel watching after him because it could have been alot worse. I love my brother so much and I hope this has taught him a lesson.
I usually don't take pictures of people when they are in the hospital, but I did this time because I told him when I'm 80 and in a nursing home he bettter come visit me and feed my just like I did with him!!!!

Pool Day

Yeah!!!! Finally a hot sunny day! Mindy called us and asked if we wanted to go to the Kearns pool with her and the family. I thought it was a good idea since it was a nice day. Mindy bought goggles for all the kids and Kaiden wore them from the time he got them to the time he fell asleep on the way home. It was so funny because he wore them backwards the whole time. The kids had so much fun playing in the water. Kaiden also loved going down the water slide. He makes me a little nerves at times because he has no fear of water.
We packed a lunch and ate there and then left a hour later. Kaiden fell asleep on the way to my moms house and stayed alseep for almost 4 hours. I think all the fun and the sun wore him out!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Last week Mike turned the BIG 30!! So on Friday Kaiden and I went and bought the stuff to make him a cake. I love to cook but hate to bake. I have never baked a cake before and I'm sure you know why by looking at it! Kaiden helped me put all the ingredients togther and when it came out of the oven the middle of it had sunk in. I figured if I put more frosting in the middle it would eventually even its self out. Kaiden had so much fun decorating it. He helped me with all the frosting and loved to put all the sprinkles on it. His favorite part of course was eating the frosting. Then we went to my parents house and my mom cooked him his favorite dinner and we opened presents and had desert. My mom asked me what his favorite kind of ice cream was and I told her Cookie dough. When my my asked Carly to go get it she said his favorite ice cream is Cookies and Cream so that is what she picked up. Later they asked Mike and he said his favorite was Cookies and Cream. I guess Carly knows my hubby better than I do!!
On Saturday we celebrated with our friends. We went golfing up at the Homestead. Did a little bit of shopping and went to Baja Cantina's for dinner. Then went to Cisero's (a bar) and went back and stayed in a hotel in Park City. We had so much fun. We don't get out that much. It was so nice just to spend time with each other and all of our great friends!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!!

Since this week has been so terrible with rain, I have had to find some fun things to do indoors. Who would of thought we would have to turn on our heater and pull out our winter clothes in the middle of June?
Monday morning I went golfing with my neighbors across the street and took Kaiden. He loved driving the cart and chasing the baby ducks down the fairway. He was so good for me. Mike couldn't believe I took him golfing.
Tuesday we went to my grandparents house and painted. What I thought would take me three hours ended up taking seven. It was my first time faux painting. Mike dropped Kaiden off the last 2 hours that I was there and he was really good. He didn't touch the walls but he did stick his hand in the paint can a few times.
Wednesday I decided to teach Kaiden how to make banana nut bread. We had a few bananas that were to ripe so I thought he would have fun baking. He dumped all the ingredients in the bowl for me and I helped him with the beaters. After we put the dough in the pans he wanted to eat the leftovers but mom wouldn't let him. To many raw eggs! The bread turned out really good.
Thursday Mike and I took Kaiden to Backyard Adventures. He had a blast! He jumped on the tramps, swung on the swings, played on the slides and in the little play huts. He went around this rock wall that was supposed to be connected to a play house and bumped into it and it fell. Barely missed landing on top of him. All the workers ran over to us to see if he was ok. They said someone was supposed to fix it and didn't. That was a little scary.
Today we went and visited my grandma in rehab. She just had her knee operated on. When we got there it was time for her to go to therapy so Kaiden and I went with her. We played the Wii bowling game. That was fun. Then they took us outside and we seen the flowers and gardens that the patients have planted. They let Kaiden pick the strawberries. He thought that was pretty cool and boy did he love to eat them! Then it was time to leave and he cried because he didn't want to leave and he wanted grandma to come with us. He cries when we go there because he doesn't want to be there and cries when we leave because he doesn't want to leave.
Then we headed to Maceys to buy stuff to make a birthday cake for Mike. This is my first time baking a cake. I love to cook but hate to bake. So I am just waiting for him to wake up so we can start on Daddy's cake!

Two Little Trouble Makers

Today, Kaiden and I went over to Mindy's house so he could play with his cousins. Mindy and I were sitting at the table talking and Kaiden and Sisi were in her room playing toys so we thought. It had been quiet a little to long so Mindy went and checked on them and I heard her yell "You Two." So I ran in the room and this is what we found. I said who did this. And Sisi said, "Sisi did it." She got a green marker and colored all over the hall walls, Mindys bedrooom door, her bedroom door, all over her walls and toy box, some on her face and all over Kaiden. Mindy and I just started laughing and of course I had to run and grab my camera so I could take pictures. Mindy says everytime Kaiden takes a step, I take a picture! It's probably true. I take a ton of pictures. But anyway, I'm sure Kaiden did some of the damage to. Sisi I'm sure did most of it because Kaiden had marker all over his face, on the back of his neck, down his legs, under his arm pit, and all over his toes. Mindy has been having problems with Sisi writing on the walls. I swear those two are hell on wheels when they are together. They both look so innocent, but they aren't!!!

Day Two of Potty Training

Once again, we had two accidents today. I was watching the neighbor kids today and they were riding on Kaidens bike and Kaiden looked at me and said, "I pooped." Mike walked over to him and we thought he might of peed his pants, but nope it was poop. So Mike took him into the bathroom while I grabbed some wipes. I went to clean out his undies and Mike said what are you doing. I said I'm going to clean them out. He took them and said we are throwing these in the garbage. That is so disgusting. He told me if he has any accidents just to throw his undies away because they are so cheap to buy. So when we are out I am going to send him to the store to get some more so he can see how cheap they are. The ones I bought at Target were 5 pairs for $10.00. That's not so cheap honey!
Anyway, we had one more before we went to bed. I was out shopping and didn't take him until we got home so it was probably my fault. I need to work on that.

First Day of Potty Training!

I finally decided today that I needed to buckle down and get Kaiden potty trained. He was probably ready to do this a couple of months ago but mom has a hard time staying home. So I thought now is a good time since we will be home the next couple of weeks. He did really good. Only 2 accidents today. I put him in Elmo underwear and took him every hour and around 12:00 of course mom's A.D.D. kicked in so we went to Mindys. I put him in a pull up thinking he might have a accident but he didn't. Mindy has a little toilet that plays music when you potty in it and he thought that was pretty cool. The only bad thing was it's so small he peed everywhere. Then him and Sisi would fight over who sat on the toilet.
When he got up from his nap, I forgot to take him. Twenty minutes later I remembered and he had peed his pants. Later on I took him outside to play and he started crying and I could see that he peed.
Other than that, he has done really well for the first day. I'm sure there will be many more accidents but I can't wait until he is completely trained!
The next plan is to take away his Mimi (Binki). That will be a horrible day. Then we will need to teach him how to sleep in his own bed.
