Easter Bunny/Park Day

Kaiden has been bugging me for a week to take him to see the Easter Bunny. I had to go buy him some sandals today so I figured I would take him. He kept asking me were the bunny keeps his eggs and I told him to ask. So he did and the bunny didn't say anything. Kaiden was mad that he didn't talk! He did tell the bunny he wanted tractors in his easter basket.
Given the bunny "MOOCHES"

The bunny gave him these cute ears to wear and he kept them on the whole time we were shopping.

After we were done shopping, Kaiden asked if we could go to the park. It was such a nice day, we picked up some lunch and had a picnic at the park and then played. We both had alot of fun!

YAY!!!! NO MORE MIMI"S

Yes, we finally got rid of Kaidens mimi (Binky). I never thought that day would come. In order for him to take a nap or sleep at night he had to have it. Oh, and also in the car. If he didn't have it, he would throw a fit. Thursday night he bit the tip of one of them off so I told him he had to throw it away. I gave him another one and told him it was his last one and he didn't have anymore left. Friday morning we were in the car and he asked for it and my mom gave it to him and told him not to bite it because he didn't have anymore left. Well, he did bite the tip of it and my mom had him through it away. He tried to fix it, but it didn't work. He wouldn't take a nap Friday because he didn't have it. I thought great, this next week is going to be terrible. But it actually hasn't been to bad. He's only asked for it when he takes a nap and goes to bed and we tell him he broke them so we had to throw them all away. That is all it takes and he goes to sleep. I am glad we didn't cut him off cold turkey. I am glad we had a reason and he understands! We tell him he is a big boy and big boy's don't need mimi's.

Our home away from home

Since today has been such a nice day, I started getting spring fever. Spring and summer are my favorite time of year! I love the warm air. This last week, Kaiden has asked me every night to tell him a camping story. He loves going camping and I think he knows when it starts getting warm that is when we get to go. When we bought our trailor 2 years ago we had a few friends give us crap about it and told us we were wasting our money and we would never use it. Well, they were wrong. The first year we bought it, we used it 12 weeks out of the year and last year was probably longer. We used it one week in Flaming Geroge and drove straight to Bear Lake and stayed in it for 2 weeks. The funny thing is, the friends that were telling us we were crazy all have trailors now!!
I have so many fun childhood memories from our camping trips that I wanted Kaiden to have the same. He loves it. He likes to get dirty, fish and go four-wheeling. What more could a little boy ask for??
So, now that it's a nice day, I am ready to take off and go camping!! We already booked our first trip the end of April. We are looking forward to it!!

Valentines Day

Mike always tells me I go way overboard on the holidays, but who doesn't like to celebrate? Especially when you see the smile on your kids face. We dropped some gifts off at the door for Kaiden and he was so excited. Every time he heard the door bell ring (which was only twice) he'd say,"Mom it's my valentines presents." My mom and dad also stamped off some valentines for us at our door. He also looked forward to getting all the valentine cards in the mail.
We took him around to some family and friends to drop off valentines gifts and he didn't understand why he couldn't stay at the door. He did have fun running and hiding though.
That night, Kaiden and I fixed a dinner for my parents and Mike. I am taking a cooking class and love it. We learned how to roast potatoes, asparagus and sear steak. So that is what we made for dinner. I did set off every fire alarm in my house, but other than that it turned out great. Kaiden and I also made chocolate covered strawberries and blackberries for dessert. They turned out amazing!

Sick little boy

On Wednesday afternoon I could tell Kaiden didn't feel good. You could see it in his eyes. He acted normal but moms always know when their kids are getting sick. On Thursday he felt warm and my mom had called me to see how he was feeling. I told her he was running a little fever and he took a early nap. She said that there was a virus going around with kids getting cold sores in their mouth, then getting a fever and really bad sore throat with a headache. Last Sunday, Kaiden kept telling us his mouth hurt and when we looked in it he had three cold sores. We just thought it was from all the chocolate he ate over the weekend. So I thought maybe that was the virus he was getting. My mom said the doctors couldn't give them anything since it was a virus. Thursday night he went to sleep and he started breathing really hard and had a cough that sounded like a barking noise. He ran a fever and whined all night and the raspy noise he made when he was breathing scared Mike and I. He also lost his voice. So I took him into the doctor yesterday and they said he had the croup. They gave him a steroid to loosen up his lungs and make the swelling go down. He said he should get his voice back today and instead of the barking cough it should sound more like a wet cough. All he did yesterday was lay in bed with me. It was so sad and he still sounded horrible.
Today he has some what of his voice back and his cough sounds a little better. He has also been more active today. I think he's on the path of feeling better!

New Playlist

I finally decided it was time to take off the Christmas music. Kaiden wanted me to put on his two favorite songs. So I did. He really likes the second song "New York." What can I say. He is crazy over New York just like his mom and grandma's!
